In this video, I show how I help establish new and young trees, such as walnuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts, and other newly planted trees in my zone 5 portion of the property. Many nut trees are very drought tolerant once they mature. But the first four to five years they require a fair amount of water to get established with vast root systems. Use this technique to slowly deep water your new trees without the need for costly and labor-intensive drip irrigation systems.

How and Why I Tag Trees

We plant a lot of trees around here, especially this time of year as temps warm yet the rain continues to fall. But the trouble with this is two fold. This post describes how and why I tag trees around the homestead.
